It’s only fair that we compare the Russian Army Choir to the U.S. Army Choir, in the 3rd video.
In addition, the 4th video is from The Vocal Majority – [US] Armed Forces medley.
Next time we fight a war, let military choirs compete on a battle field filled with the sound of music. Maybe through song, we might find peace. Do you think the Taliban or al Qaeda might have a choir?

What a great idea!
Thank you. My first idea was to put the leaders of countries that may go to war in a room, lock the door and only one will be allowed out after the other one is dead. Brutal, I know. Music would work better. I wonder who the judging panel would be.
Not sure about the judges. Reminds me of the line from a song though: “I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.”
Bribes, bias. There would always be that danger. And if we used an American Idol type judging where people called in from all over the world, the country with the biggest population/popularity would win. The US has the 3rd largest population but could easily be beat by China and India. And the US isn’t all that popular in many countries.
If we used a super computer to judge, a hacker could slip in and plant a Trojan horse program that could tilt the outcome.
It seems fraught with difficulty. Perhaps still better than killing people. Which reminds me of another song “killing me softly with his song” . . .
I remember that song.
Anyone who has ever been in a high school marching band knows how this turns out. Some of our biggest rivals were our favorite bands to play against. The “battle of the bands” almost always turned into jam sessions played across the field at each other, with the band on the other side dancing in appreciation for what the other side did. It was that way when I was in school, and now that I have kids in high school band, I see that it is still that way. No matter the rivalry, we almost always walked away with an appreciation for what the other side brought.
Seems like a good idea to me.
